System Development

Ms. Sayler has created custom applications in Access, FoxPro and Visual Basic. These applications have included data loading tools, data entry screens, automated data validation, data interpretation routines, data archival, database security, and extensive reporting and graphing features.

Electronic Data Management

Database Design: Ms. Sayler has designed many chemistry databases. The largest contained 600,000 records. Database designs have accommodated regulatory data requirements, laboratory data limitations, client software preferences and intended data uses.

Database Audits: Ms. Sayler performed on-site quality assurance review of clients’ and laboratories’ database procedures including quality management, file storage and archival, and database documentation. She identified weaknesses and recommended corrective actions. Ms. Sayler has also worked with programmers to debug laboratory electronic data generation programs.

Database Administration: Database Administration includes loading laboratory electronic data into desired database format, performing any necessary data calculations or manipulations, and producing summary reports and graphs. Ms. Sayler has loaded literally hundreds of electronic data deliverables. Data formats have included delimited and fixed length ASCII files, CLP I1A and O1A formats, GISKey, EQuIS and laboratory default EDD formats, US Army Environmental Center (IRDMIS), Army Corps of Engineers (EDF), Air Force Center for Environmental Enforcement (IRPIMS), and Washington Department of Ecology (SEDQUAL). Data manipulations have included a complex data reduction algorithm, decision tree evaluations, data qualification, and completeness and reasonableness checks. Summary reports have included detected constituents summaries, sampling and analysis schedules, quality control summaries, regulatory level exceedances.

Quality Assurance

Ms. Sayler has performed laboratory coordination and prepared Quality Assurance Project Plan. She has provided QA support services for litigation projects. Ms. Sayler has performed on-site laboratory quality assurance audits and has worked with laboratories to improve data flow and documentation processes.

Data Validation and Interpretation

Ms. Sayler has performed data validation on both organic and inorganic analyses and is well versed in CLP, SW-846, PSEP and NWTPH methodology for GC, GC/MS, ICP, ICP/MS, AA and wet chemistry (volatiles, semivolatiles, pesticides, PCBs, herbicides, PCB congeners, butyltins, TPH, metals and conventionals)

Validation projects have included a wide variety of sediment and uplands sites.

Ms. Sayler has specialized in in-depth evaluation of environmental data, including reviewing analyte identifications, verifying laboratory calculations, evaluating laboratory specific methods and interpreting coelution data.

Laboratory Operations

Project Management: Ms. Sayler served as a laboratory project manager for underground storage tank monitoring and excavation projects, site investigation/remediation projects, and Superfund projects. She performed summary report reviews, and provided technical support to clients regarding Washington Department of Ecology, SW-846, and CLP analytical methods.

USEPA CLP Review: Ms. Sayler has prepared and reviewed volatile, semivolatile, pesticide, USEPA CLP data package for USEPA Regions III, V, IX, and X. She has prepared and reviewed Level IV organic and inorganic data packages for miscellaneous projects.

Quality Assurance: Ms. Sayler has performed data audits on completed data packages, identified errors, and implemented corrective actions. She has written and revised laboratory QAPPs and SOPs.

Analysis: Ms. Sayler has performed conventional testing of food products. She has assisted with extraction and analysis of water samples by USEPA Method 8080.

Software Experience

Ms. Sayler is proficient in FoxPro, Access, Excel, Microsoft Word, Quattro Pro, Lotus, WordPerfect, and QuickBooks Pro. She also has experience in Visual Basic, Dbase, Paradox, Power Point, PageMaker, PhotoShop, PaintShop Pro, ArcInfo, Surfer, Northwest Quality Analyst, Finnigan Formaster, and Telecations Smartlog.
